We are investigating fundametal concepts of quantum information theory. Here, a focus is on the characterization and application of quantum mechanical resources like entanglement, discord, coherence and purity. A central topic of interest along this line is quantum cryptography, especially security analyses and the calculation of secure key rates for two- and multipartite protocols, using assumptions of various strengths.
